Interesting list. Cornish Pasty Co. is definitely British, not Italian (Cornish means "from Cornwall").
Spinato's is a solid choice. Spicy Italian, Get Meaty, and Nicole's Favorite are my top pizzas there. I wouldn't really call any of the other pizza places favorites, though some are solid.
You should check out some of these places:
Cafe Istanbul (my favorite Middle Eastern place)
Haji Baba (another solid Middle Eastern place)
Kabab Palace (Kyrene and Elliot; my favorite Indian place)
Moreno's (favorite for Mexican street food)
Beaver Choice (scandinavian)
Chompie's (the best Jewish-style deli we have; great for breakfast)
Mille's Cafe (Puerto Rican; Thursday through Sunday only)
La Condesa (excellent tacos and salsa bar)
Diablo Burger (best burger I've had in AZ, located in Flagstaff, cash only. You have to be OK with eating a medium rare burger.)
Yeah, that was a type-o which was bound to happen with so much repetitiveness in this post.
And thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping this post would encourage others to share some for Afton & I to try out.
And Moreno's baaaaaarely didn't make the list.
Also, here's a few I like for when you're not on a budget:
House of Tricks (new American food, excellent raspberry lemonade, killer soups, great for when it's cool out. And great for a nice date, but it will probably cost ~$40 each for dinner, $20-$25 for lunch)
The Stockyards (steakhouse... Great burgers if you like them pink; they also have Sonoran Root Beer on tap, and they even have calf fries! ~$20 for lunch, probably $50 for dinner)
Fogo De Chao (brazilian steakhouse aka churrascaria. All you can eat steak, good cuts too. $40 for lunch, probably $60 for dinner.)
Stax Burger Bistro (sliders. In addition to regular hamburgers, they have Kobe beef, lamb, and a few other meats, including a wild game burger of the day, which might be elk, pheasant, kangaroo, etc. Probably $20-$25 with three sliders, fries, and a drink)
King's Fish House (seafood. Best seafood I've had in AZ, which doesn't say much... But you can get a plethora of fish, lobster, king crab, dungeness crab, oysters, soft-shell crab, etc. depending on what's in season. But if you're not careful, you might spend $60 on your lobster and oysters.)
The Farm Kitchen at South Mountain (american. Outdoor dining at the farm, with patio seating and picnic tables; closed summer, and only open for lunch. Their cherry bread pudding is to die for, but if you're not careful, you might spend $25 for lunch)
